Cherry Blossom – Taste of Japan

The National Cherry Blossom Festival has kicked into high gear with the return of Taste of Japan, after a two-year hiatus. The event served as a fundraiser for the National Cherry Blossom Festival and provided attendees with delicious samples of Japanese cuisine at the Carnegie Library in DC’s Mount Vernon Square.

Restaurants like Asia Nine Bar & Lounge, KAZ Sushi Bistro, Masa 14, Sushi Taro,
Tako Grill, Yo Sushi and Zengo provided tasty seafood including fresh sushi, shrimp
balls and sashimi.

A variety of Japanese beers were served by Coedo Beer, Echigo Beer,
Orion Beer ranging from lagers to stouts.

The highlight of the event, however, was the
grand sake and shochu tasting with rare brews by Born Sake, Dassai Sake, Hakkaisan
Sake, Kikusui Sake, Kirin Sake, Kubota Sake, Nanbu Bijin Sake, Oze No Yukidoki
Sake, Taisetsu Sake, Takara Sake, Tengumai Sake, Choya Ume Shu, Hakutake Shiro
Shochu, Iichiko Shochu and Satsuma Shiranami Shochu.
