Buddhist and Shaolin Monk to Visit the DC Metro Area and Provide Seminars at Qi Elements in Herndon, VA
Herndon,
VA -- 31st Generation Buddhist Monk and Shaolin Kung Fu Master Shi De Shan, originally from the Shaolin Temple in the Henan Province,
China, will be visiting the Washington, DC area from October 5th through the 7th. During his stay, he will lead seminars at Qi Elements School of T’ai Chi
and Shaolin Kung Fu.
Free
introductory classes will be offered on Saturday (from 11:30 AM to 12 PM)
and Sunday (from 11 to 11:30 AM). The general
public is invited to attend. No
experience is necessary. Anyone
interested in learning authentic Shaolin martial arts
from a Shaolin Monk is welcome.
On
Friday, October 5th, Children and Adult classes in Shaolin Kung Fu will be offered.
On
Saturday and Sunday, Buddhist Monk Shi De Shan will lead seminars in T’ai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu,
Self-Defense / Chin Na, Traditional Weapons and San Da. All seminars will have the characteristic
qualities of 1,500-year old Shaolin martial arts.
Buddhist
Monk Shi De Shan has studied Shaolin Martial Arts for
nearly 30 years. He received the 31st
Generation Disciple Degree from Mount Songshan Shaolin Temple in 1985. Since
that time, Monk Shi De Shan has traveled and performed Wushu
Kung Fu in China, the United States, Canada, and more than thirty other countries in Europe
and Asia. He has also
appeared in several martial arts movies and in the 2002 PBS broadcast “Shaolin in America.”
Qi
Elements School of T’ai Chi and Kung Fu has
specialized training in Yang Style T’ai Chi and
Chinese Kung Fu for almost 15 years.
The School offers extracurricular activities, including trips to China to study with world-renowned masters in the Chinese
Martial Arts.
