D.C.’s OAPIA Gives $15,000 Funding For Community Based Organizations
The District Government’s Office on Asian and Pacific
Islander Affairs OAPIA) is giving out $15,000 in funding to assist API-led
community-based organizations (CBOs) build their
organization's capacity.
Applicants can submit their
request for assistance letter any time before September 1, 2007. They can apply multiple times for funding. All
approved funding must be spent by September 15, 2007
Applicants
can request funding up to $1,500 to support the CBO's
planning, implementation, evaluation, and other programmatic development needs,
and/or to support the CBO's resource development,
Board development, fundraising, and other organizational development needs.
. Applications
will be in the form of a request for assistance letter which should not exceed
two pages. The letter should include the following: Organization information
(e.g., name, mission, contact information); Proof of Nonprofit status; Proposed
use of funds (e.g., training, software, consultant); Description of the
assistance (e.g., Federal grantwriter's workshop,
Peachtree software); Benefit/use to the organization (i.e., programmatic and/or
organizational) and Budget, including other or the CBO's
resources if necessary.
Applicants
will be notified of
approval or denial of funding request through email after 10
business days from when OAPIA receives their letter. Once approved, additional
materials/documents may be requested by OAPIA.
