Celebrate Fairfax! Festival June 8-10

FAIRFAX, VA -- Northern Virginia’s largest community-wide event, the 26th annual Celebrate Fairfax! Festival, is set to take place June 8-10, 2007 on the grounds of the Fairfax County Government Center.  The Celebrate Fairfax! Festival features 25 acres of amazing concerts, family programs, science and technology, history, thrilling carnival rides and nightly fireworks!  Among the festival's highlights are the more than 80 concerts on six stages, with an exceptional line-up of national, regional and local performers. Included are four fantastic headliners:

2007 Headline Entertainment Schedule:

Friday, June 8th at 8pm Live

Critically acclaimed, LIVE erupted onto the international music scene in the mid-1990s with "Throwing Copper," which sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. Since then, LIVE have been regular visitors to the rock charts and have maintained their popularity well into the 21st Century.

Saturday, June 9th at 3pm Eddie From Ohio

EDDIE FROM OHIO is a band that defies typical labeling.  Too energetic to be "folk" and not angry enough to be pegged as "alternative," the band is happy to have their own style... which is just fine with their loyal fans!

Saturday, June 9th at 8pm Smash Mouth

With some of the most memorable songs of the past decade, SMASH MOUTH's string of hits are known to diverse audiences; including their initial hit "Walkin' on the Sun" and the iconic follow-up "All-Star," SMASH MOUTH's show promises to be amazing!

Sunday, June 10th at 4pm Little Big Town

With their melodies evoking the styles of Fleetwood Mac, LITTLE BIG TOWN's critical acclaim has been overwhelming, including multiple nominations for this past year's Grammy and Country Music Association (CMA's) awards.

In addition to the outstanding entertainment schedule, there are plenty of enhancements to the already extensive family programming at Celebrate Fairfax!, including new initiatives such as the Verizon Literacy Corner (which will feature literacy-based activities and storytelling), the all-new version of the Virginia Lottery Laser Spectacular and an enhanced ExxonMobil Children's Avenue.  This year’s Fairfax County Expo will include more than 40 agencies providing exhibits focused around the theme, "Fairfax County: Past, Present & Future."

General admission seating is available for all performances; shows are free with daily tickets to the event.  Advance tickets are on sale at Wegmans in Fairfax, Northern Virginia Multiplex Cinemas, Northern Virginia Silver Diner locations, Fairfax Federal Credit Union branches and online at www.celebratefairfax.com.

The 26th annual Celebrate Fairfax! Festival is a presentation of Celebrate Fairfax, Inc. and will be held Friday, June 8 through Sunday, June 10, 2007.  The festival is presented in part by King Wholesale, Inc., ExxonMobil, Inova Health System, and Cox Communications.  Celebrate Fairfax, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c) 3 organization commissioned in 1982 by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.  Its mission, “The Celebration of Fairfax County and Its Communities,” is met through the production of the Celebrate Fairfax! Festival, Fall for Fairfax, and educational programs such as Events 101.  For more information call (703) 324-3247 or visit the website at www.celebratefairfax.com.
