AAGEN, FAPAC Join Forces for AAPI Federal Employees

Washington, D.C.–On February 1, the Asian American Government Executives Network (AAGEN) and the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) committed to engage in, and sustain a partnership, in their roles as national professional organizations advocating the interest of the Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the Federal and District of Columbia governments.

Their aim is to form a stronger, united front for the AAPI federal employee community, cross-promote each other’s organizations, and to minimize overlap of effort and resources.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by Chairman Tommy Hwang of AAGEN and Dr. Kin Wong, President of FAPAC at a ceremony at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The provisions of this MOU benefit the AAPI Community in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of the best qualified Asian American and Pacific Islanders in all levels of government through succession pipelines, mentoring and leadership training.

Together, AAGEN and FAPAC invite their members to support this very special collaboration in advancing the opportunities for AAPI throughout the federal and District of Columbia governments.

Founded in 1993, the mission of AAGEN is to promote, expand, and support AAPI Leadership in the Government. FAPAC, founded in 1985, has the mission to promote equal opportunity and cultural diversity for AAPI at all levels. Both AAGEN and FAPAC are non-profit, non partisan, 501 c3 organizations.
