“Going once, going twice….Sold!” The thrills, the anticipation and the anxiety amounts as the bidders mill through the auction tables looking for the best deals. Once in a Blue Moon Benefit and Art Auction returns to the Center for the Arts, Towson University on Saturday, March 28 with a wide selection of objects d’art for everyone. All guests will have the opportunity to bid in both the live and silent auctions on a variety of items, from curious novelties to valuable antiques including ceramics, carvings, furniture, sculp¬ture, textiles, prints and decorative arts from all over Asia and gift certificates and surprise packages from local businesses.

Here’s just a sampling of some auction items: an elegant antique Chinese rosewood reclining chair, delicate ivory and jade carvings, lacquer boxes, ceramics, cloisonné and scroll paintings. Guests of the benefit will preview the auction, enjoy a delectable buffet dinner featuring Asian cuisine, beers and wine, live music, door prizes, and more! If you missed the excitement of the last auction in 2002, you definitely would not want to miss it again—it is an event that happens only once in a blue moon!

The Asian Arts & Culture Center at Towson University promotes the art and cultures of Asia through programming that benefits students, faculty, artists, and the Mid-Atlantic regional community. All proceeds from the auction benefit Center’s programming, and The Gilbert Brungardt Endowment for the Benefit of the Asian Arts & Culture Center that will provide a stable funding source of support and enhance the mission of the Asian Arts & Culture Center for decades to come.
