Maryland Delegate Susan C. Lee (D-16) and top Asian Pacific American community leaders thanked U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer for his support of the passage of the Children's Health and Medicare Protection Act (CHAMP Act), House Resolution 121 and for his leadership and efforts on immigration reform and other issues impacting the Asian Pacific American community.

Together with hundreds of friends of Congressman Davis (R-VA), some members of the Asian community were invited to a fun-filled pig roast party on July 28. The Federation was selected on August 1 to open the prestigious NASDAQ (National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations system). Jeffrey Chin, new Chairman of the Board, presided over the ringing of the bell. He was accompanied by Federation board of directors, staff and friends.

The dinner welcoming Xiaolin Wang, Secretary-General of the International Wushu Federation, who was visiting Washington D.C. The event, organized by the local Chinese community on August 4, was held at the Seven Seas Restaurant in Rockville, Maryland.

A delegation representing Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) visited Washington D.C. and hosted an investment seminar at the Economic Commercial Counselor’s Office of the Chinese Embassy on August 7.

The 2007 Operatic Vocal Gala Concert attracted more than 1,000 audience members at the Music Center of Strathmore on August 5.
