The Montgomery County Police Department recognized ten Asian American community leaders last Nov. 25 in an awards ceremony, as part of its effort to work closely with the community. Chief J. Thomas Manger presented the awards to the honorees: Delegate Susan C. Lee (D, MD), the first Asian American woman elected to the Maryland House of Delegates; Chung K. Pak, administrative patent judge with the US Board of Patent Appeals; Dr. Sovan Tun, Cambodian Buddhist Society: Stan Tsai, former president of the Chinese Culture and Community Service Center (CCACC); Senior Pastor Young Jin Kim, Bethany Presbyterian Church: Hoan Dang of the Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association; Police Attache Sung Lee of the Korean Embassy: H-Mart; Prasarn Manakul, vice chairman of the Wat Thai Washington D.C, and Arshad H. Qureshi, chairman of the board of trustees at the Muslim Community Center.
