Courses for Students, Adults at Confucius Classroom

Confucius Classroom of Washington DC (CCDC) is offering three levels of courses for elementary and middle school students, adults (including high school students), and for training Chinese instructors.

The courses for both elementary and middle-school students and adult students are expected to be available in January 2009 for 3 months and 6 months respectively. Classes will be held during evenings from Monday to Thursday for adults, and during the day on Saturdays for both adults and elementary and middle-school students.

CCDC was established by the American Chinese School, a non-profit organization, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of the University of Maryland, under the authorization and sponsorship of China's Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban).

CCDC is a division of the Confucius Institute of the University of Maryland. Its goal: To meet the demand for Chinese education in the US by providing quality Chinese learning and experience to both K-12 students and adults, and helping to train Chinese teachers.

Adult Chinese courses will range from beginning to advanced level. They include two types of courses; one focusing more on Chinese language and the other more on Chinese culture.
