Want to Work for Obama? Here’s How

WASHINGTON–At least three groups are collecting resumes of qualified Asian Americans and Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islanders for potential jobs in the new administration of President-elect Barack Obama.

They are the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), a coalition of 25 Asian Pacific American organizations nationwide, the Asian American Action Fund (AAA-Fund), a political action committee based here, and a California institute.

AAA-Fund also suggests applicants to email their resume to warreninstitute@berkeley.edu The Chief Justice Earl Warren Institute at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, is also collecting resumes to create a list of 300 talented individuals to recommend to the new administration.

The NCAPA does not guarantee an offer from the administration. It noted in a news release, “We suggest that you use multiple options to move your applications forward and to follow the application process outlined at www.change.gov”

“To ensure diversity and inclusion at all levels of government, minority and civil rights organizations are recommending individuals for positions within the new Administration,” it added.

What to send to NCAPA: A cover letter, resume/curriculum vitae, and list of references. The cover letter should identify at minimum three agencies and positions of interest to applicant. Send attachments via email to aapitransition08@gmail.com On Subject line of the email, typle full name and indicate the agencies of interest. Example: First Name, Last Name: Treasury; Justice; and State.

The AAA-Fund said applicants can send in Expression of Interest (Part I of Application) to: http://change.gov/page/s/application, Or they can email their resume, indicating the Subject title as "Manansala Charmaine Resume," with a cover letter describing any involvement with the campaign, to two addresses: charmaine.manansala@gmail.com and info@aaa-fund.org Charmaine directed the Obama campaign’s Asian American vote program.
