Indian Association of Frederick to hold 2006 Festival of
India
Indians, Asians, Pacific Islander and other communities’
members in the Washington DC metro area will be gathering at the Govenor Thomas
Johnson High School in Frederick Maryland on December 2nd to
celebrate the 2006 Festival of India from 2:00 to 8:00 PM.
Throughout the year, the association successfully organized
a series of events such as the Potluck picnic on April 23, the mother’s day
picnic on May 14 and the Father’s day picnic on June 18 2006. The non-profit Association whose Mission is "Bringing the
Indian Community Together and Promoting Awareness of Indian Ethnic Culture in
Frederick and Around” also partnered with UNESCO Center for Peace for the second year in
the row last September 21st in celebrating the International Day for
Peace at Hood College. Participants will share Indian culinary delights, Great Indian Music & Dances
Indian Arts, Crafts, Clothes, Henna Painting and many more. As in the past, the
event will conclude with an open dance floor for Indian Folk dance during which
experienced dancers are available to coach and assist curious and beginners.
