Maryland Governor’s Office on Asian Pacific American Affair visit Frederick Last November 13, 2006, Mr. David Lee, Executive Director of the Maryland
David Lee of the Governor’s Office on Asian Pacific American Affair paid a
visit to Frederick, MD
where he presided over a meeting hosted by Elizabeth Chung, Director of
L.I.F.E. & DISCOVERY.
Talking about the meeting,
Elizabeth Chung said: “Mr. Lee would like to know more about Asian American
community in Frederick County.”
She invited Asian American and Pacific Islander residing in Frederick county
and vanities to come and share their experiences and views on education, jobs,
housing, health and human services, business, or any other issues they may face
in Frederick County.
During the two hours event,
participants expressed the need to continue to work towards the creation of a
formal organization that may advance the cause of all Asian and Pacific
Islander leaving in the county.
After the meeting, Mr. David Lee
expressed his satisfaction in these terms “I again want to thank Elizabeth
for her initiative and for hosting the meeting. You have a strong and diverse
core group of people, and I see a very bright future for the Asian American
community in Frederick County.”
He then told participants that he
will always be available for assistance before concluding with a sound advice:”
Please keeps this momentum going, stay involved in local government and
community affairs, and get your children involved as well.”
