PARK CREST COMMUNITY IN TYSONS/McLEAN NAMED BEST WASHINGTON AREA CONDOMINIUM PROJECT
Award Given by Panel of Leading National Real Estate Developers and Financiers

McLean, VA -- The rapidly emerging, cosmopolitan, “city within a city” of Park Crest, immediately adjacent to Tysons Galleria in McLean, has been named the Best Washington Metro Area Condominium Project in the 10th Annual Multi-Family Awards for Excellence. Known in real estate industry circles as The Delta Awards, the annual honors are sponsored by real estate industry analysts led by Delta Associates (a Transwestern affiliate), PNC Bank and Beers & Cutler. This year’s Delta Awards will be bestowed at a ceremony in Washington, DC on Thursday, October 5, 2006.

The exceptionally upscale Park Crest community, developed by The Penrose Group and The Donohoe Companies, is fuelling the evolution of the Tysons/McLean area into a sought-after residential setting, adding to its internationally recognized image as a retail and business address. This evolution will eventually include the expansion of Metro rail through Tysons and continuing west to Dulles International Airport. One new Metro station will be within walking distance of Park Crest. The urban-styled community will be pedestrian-focused and will include large open park spaces, building pools and fitness facilities, and a large open central green that creates an outdoor “great hall.” A total of seven buildings are planned for Park Crest, including high-rise towers ranging from 13 to 19 stories, and a five-story building offering the first loft home designs in Tysons/McLean. The community will also feature a new gourmet Harris Teeter supermarket. The homes of Park Crest are world-class caliber, and are priced from the $500s to over $2 million. Sales are currently underway at The Lofts at Park Crest, and at the community’s first two high-rise towers, One and Two Park Crest.

The annual Delta Awards are based on several stringent criteria, including design innovations, a community’s level of features and amenities, its location, market position and pricing, sales pace and the property’s marketing program. Delta Awards for multi-family housing excellence are bestowed in metro Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia and region-wide for the Mid-Atlantic states. Park Crest won Best Washington Metro Area Condominium Project against dozens of competing new condominium communities.

The Penrose Group and The Donohoe Companies are developing the Park Crest community. Based in Vienna, VA, The Penrose Group, one of the largest residential and commercial/retail mixed-use developers in metropolitan Washington, DC (www.PenroseGroup.com) is responsible for such high-visibility National Capital real estate developments as King Farm and Rock Spring Centre in Montgomery County, MD. The Penrose Group’s development partner at Park Crest is The Donohoe Companies (www.Donohoe.com), metro Washington’s oldest full-service real estate developer (and one of the area’s largest). The firm was founded in 1884, and its portfolio includes Chevy Chase Pavilion in Washington, DC and the headquarters of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD. The Mayhood Company, an independent third party sales company specializing in Greater Washington, DC condominium homes, is handling sales for Park Crest. Interested homebuyers can obtain more information about the community online at www.ParkCrestLiving.com , or by phoning 703-356-0030.
