Los Angeles, Calif. - The spotlight shines again on outstanding Asian Pacific American entrepreneurs and corporations as Asian Enterprise Magazine rolls out the red carpet for the 2010 Asian Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. This much-awaited annual event, now in its 17th year, will be held on Sept. 10, 2010 at 7 p.m., at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif.

AEY 2010 is the only national competition-based awards event that honors exemplary Asian Pacific American entrepreneurs, small business and Fortune 500 companies that have made an impact in their respective communities through their efforts to practice and promote diversity, inclusion, excellence, equal opportunities and high-quality products and services.
This year's gala event is themed “In Relentless Perseverance on the Road to Recovery” and will be graced by such notables as Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is the invited keynote speaker of the evening and Public Servant Advocate of the Year awardee, Asian Pacific American political leaders, and various presidents and CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, as well as significant nonprofit or organizational leaders from the Asian Pacific American community. Live entertainment will also be provided by Japanese-American jazz fusion band, Hiroshima.
Among this year's awardees for Small Business Advocates are Joe Alderete, Supplier Diversity Manager of Southern California Edison; Christopher K. Law, Vice President of United Health Care/Secure Horizons; April Kelly-Drummond, Diversity Affairs Director of Denny’s, Inc.; and Brad Blackwell, Executive Vice President of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.

The Corporate Advocate of the Year Award will be given to United Healthcare/Secure Horizons, while the Special Advocates are Sri Rajagopalan and Kuntesh Choksi, both of whom are chairmen of PAN PepsiCo.

The Best Companies for Asian Americans include Denny’s Inc., Sodexo, IBM, PepsiCo, Harrah’s Entertainment, Kaiser Permanente, Morgan Stanley, Northrup Grumman, Southern California Edison, the Coca-Cola Company, United Healthcare/Secure Horizons and Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
