“A Night With Hua Sha”

Hua Sha Chinese Dance Center is planning a dance concert at 7:30pm on September 16th at the Jim Rouse Theater in Columbia, Md.  The show is a grand celebration of the 10th anniversary of the dance center. This Chinese dance concert is designed and choreographed by Xiao Fang Xu, the Hua Sha’s artistic director, who was a distinguished professional dancer in China.

The concert will present the audience a collection of beautiful Chinese classical and folk dances choreographed by Xu during the past 10 years. These include sword dance, Mu Lan, water lily dance, Fishman’s Song, fan dance, ribbon dance, Empire’s Concubine, Tai dance, Tibetan dance, Mongolian dance, Korean dance, and Xinjiang dance. Each dance will be performed by well trained dancers with different dancing styles in dazzlingly beautiful costumes designed and made by professionals in China

Hua Sha Chinese Dance Center has earned a great popularity by demonstrating Chinese performing arts in both Chinese and American communities. In the past several years the center has participated in many performing events, such as various Howard County art shows, Chrysanthemum Festivals at Longwood Gardens, and grand celebrations of the Chinese New Year. Their dances have not only brought spark and vitality to the stages but have also promoted Chinese performing arts and culture in the American culture. Tickets are $20.
