Dodgers Celebrate Japanese-American Community

The Dodgers celebrated Japanese-American Community Night last night by honoring several members of the Japanese-American community on the field during pregame ceremonies, including Consul General of Japan Junichi Ihara, the highest-ranking Asian-American in the Los Angeles Police Department and immediate past–president of the Nisei Week Foundation Deputy Chief Terry Hara, President of the Nisei Week Foundation Hayato Tamura and the 2009 Nisei Week Court. Japanese-American actress Tamlyn Tomita will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and singer Judith Hill will perform the National Anthem. The ceremonies also included a taiko drum performance. Fans who sat in My Town, Japan received Dodgertown, Japan t-shirts and enjoyed an all-you-can-eat menu including teriyaki chicken, steamed jasmine rice and edamame.
