The Curtain Lifts on a New Era of Gaming at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races
Zen Noodles features authentic Asian cuisine

Charles Town, WV -- It's show time in Charles Town. Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races debuted its new name, a redesigned casino floor and a selection of table games at a recent ceremony to celebrate a new era of gaming at the Mid-Atlantic's largest casino.

Following the Independence Day holiday weekend when customers packed the casino -- many to try their luck at the initial table games installed on the casino floor -- Hollywood introduced its new look and Las Vegas-style casino experience to community leaders who were instrumental in supporting a December 2009 referendum to authorize table games.

"The roll-out of the Hollywood brand and the addition of table games have transformed our facility. You really have to see it to believe it," said Al Britton, Hollywood General Manager. "Guests from the Washington, DC, Virginia and Baltimore areas and throughout the mid-Atlantic region can now take advantage of a full-service gaming experience much closer to home. With Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races about an hour's drive west of the DC and Baltimore beltways, table gamers can now avoid the additional tree-hour drive to Atlantic City or five-hour flight to Las Vegas."

There will be a number of table game areas featured in the casino, including a high limit pit, a non-smoking pit and a party pit where players can exchange high fives and rock to their favorite tunes. Various table games are available including: Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, and many others. A new poker room is located near the racetrack grandstand and will ultimately offer a total of 27 tables. A variety of poker games are available and poker tournaments will be held in the coming months.

For slot players, in addition to offering approximately 5,000 slot machines, one of the largest selections in the country, Hollywood has also introduced a new high-end slots area located across from the high-limit table games area.

The Hollywood re-branding brings extensive renovations to the casino floor that invokes the glitz and glamour of 1930s' art deco Hollywood. A giant serpentine video wall greets players at the main entrance and projects first-run movie trailers, video shorts and animation. Numerous plasma screens and video trees have been added through the casino for guests to enjoy entertainment and sports as they play. New chandeliers, carpeting and columns add to the classic Hollywood art deco motif.

"The Hollywood name says it all," said Britton. "In addition to fun and entertainment, we've created a more comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere where our guests can expect red carpet treatment wherever they go."

New dining and entertainment features are also coming to Hollywood. Zen Noodles, which serves authentic Asian cuisine, opens in the food court adjacent to the casino floor. Final Cut Steakhouse will open in the fall and feature prime cuts of beef and other premium entrees. In the coming months, Hollywood on the Roof will debut as the casino's new entertainment lounge featuring a giant panoramic screen and entertainment on the edge of the casino floor.
