The Tri-Caucus is composed of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), and Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC).

The Tri-Caucus joined APAICS in welcoming the interns in the nation’s capital. In attendance were Rep. and CAPAC Chair Judy Chu (CA-32); Rep. and CAPAC Vice Chair Madeleine Bordallo (GU); Rep. Mike Honda (CA-15), CAPAC chair emeritus; Rep. Charlie Gonzalez (TX-20), chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Donald Payne (NJ-10), chair of CBCF, and Rep. Grace Napolitano (CA-38).

Congresswoman Chu said, “APAICS is helping to build the leadership pipeline to strengthen the Asian American & Pacific Islander voice in our nation’s capital.” The APAICS summer internship program began in 1995.

Intern Christina Li-Hui Aguirre is of Chinese, Hispanic, and Native American descent. She said, “I want to impact people’s lives and our communities, whether the impact is small or large.”
