AASuccess Scholarship Winners

Six Asian American college and high school students, two young men and four women, won this year’s AASuccess scholarship contest, receiving between $500 and $1,000 in cash provided by generous donors.
Winners were selected for their academic strength, their essay–the Vietnam War was this year’s theme–their presentation on their community service and for demonstrating strong leadership attributes.
Indeed, the most important criterion was the way students approach their studies, face challenges in life, address professional development, and engage in civic activities
AASuccess, established in 2006, provides a vehicle for young people to “become positive catalysts for change in the home, school, workplace, and community.” To empower students to achieve their highest potential, the organization’s program includes life skill development, internship opportunities, career advancement, and volunteer service.
