D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray’s community awards were presented to Peter Cho and Young Woo for supporting and advancing the local community. The awards were part of the Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebration, held at the Martin Luther King Library in the nation’s capital.

U.S. Rep. Mike Honda (D, CA-15) welcomed some 300 volunteers and guests. Performers included the Washington Chinese Fold Dance Troupe and the Asian American Leadership Empowerment and Development (AALEAD) Fusion Dance Team. “We are grateful to those who live, work and serve in this community,” said Soohyun Koo, Executive Director of the Office on APIA Affairs.
