Richard Lui, Inspirational Role Model

The A List keeps bumping into NBC News guy Richard Lui, a frequent traveler to D.C. from home base in the Big Apple, including two high-profile appearances in October. As Hurricane Sandy bore down on the area Sunday night, the 28th, the whirlwind anchor and correspondent was here picking up the Leadership Award from the OCA Greater Washington Chapter at a glittering gala. On the 18th, he emceed Asian American Justice Center’s Courage Award ceremonies at the Capital Hilton. Somehow between assignments for Today, NBC Weekend Nightly News, MSNBC, and the NBC News Investigations Unit, Lui works with non-profit groups dealing with the homeless and affordable housing. With a reporter’s eye on public affairs, he volunteers for the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, APIAVote, and the United States Capitol Historical Society. So we know about his public service and his high-profile TV news career. But did you know he has an MBA from the University of Michigan and spent years in the corporate world? How about that he studied in Spain and speaks Spanish? The A List says gracias Ricardo, for all you do.
