Ambassador Locke's Portrait Unveiled
U.S. Ambassador to China Gary Locke and his wife, Mona, were on hand for the traditional ceremony unveiling his official portrait at the U.S. department of Commerce, where he served as Secretary from 2009 to 2011. Over 200 friends and colleagues of Ambassador Locke gathered at Department of Commerce headquarters in Washington on September 13 to see his portrait join those of past Secretaries, followed by a reception. Ambassador Locke spoke of his immigrant heritage that took him from poverty to become the Secretary of Commerce and now U.S. Ambassador to China.
