Special Guests Attend Annual FAPAC Picnic

More than a hundred members and guests attended the picnic of the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC). The annual gathering took place at the Wheaton Regional Park on a sunny day on July 14.

“The picnic afforded a time for old friends and new ones to enjoy the day with their families as well,” said FAPAC President Kin Wong, adding, “The weather cooperated, too, so it was a very successful event.”

Dr. Wong introduced Montgomery County Councilman at Large George Leventhal, who delivered welcoming remarks. Other guests included Moshe Ramdass, Director of Office of Diversity USDA, Serina Moy from the Montgomery County Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, Sharon Wong and Farook Sait, former FAPAC presidents.

FAPAC, founded in 1985, is the largest organization representation Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the federal and District of Columbia governments. Its membership includes GS and SES, as well as both the military and civilian sectors. Further information can be found on wwww.fapac.org.
