Lao Foundation to hold 1st Summer Camp

Niphasone Souphom, president of the Lao Heritage Foundation, recently announced that the Foundation will hold its first Lao Culture and Art Summer Day Camp in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area from August 6 to August 10. The camp will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. There will be a meet and greet and final performance for families and friends on August 10, Saturday.

Camp activities will include traditional music lessons (kaen, saw, kim, lanad, flute, drum, xing, and kong wong), traditional Lao dance lessons, and Lao culture (arts and crafts, cooking, Lao sports and games, theater, Lao literature and folktale, conversational Lao, and Lao etiquette).
