Lao Foundation Seeks Volunteers for its 7th Anniversary Celebration

As the Lao Heritage Foundation (LHF) prepares for its 7th anniversary celebration on October 1, leaders are seeking volunteer members for several committees.

LHF, based in the Metropolitan Washington area, is “a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity with the mission to preserve and promote Lao culture.”

LHF president Niphasone Souphom, Xai and Mali Phonpadith, author of “A Million Fireflies” and CEO ofMali Creative, LLC have been meeting to brainstorm on ideas. Ms. Phonpadith said they are planning “a special event to highlight Lao writers and the art of expression.”

The leaders urged members to look at the list of committees and contact them as soon as possible. Ms. Souphom is the Chairperson of the Annual Fundraising Dinner, with Ms. Phonpadith, as Co-Chair.

“The event needs a Coordinator for all the planning activities,” Ms. Phonpadith said. “Committees need to be organized with one chairperson for every committee, and at least three to four members for each committee.”

Volunteers are needed for the following: Programs Committee; Marketing and Public Relations; Sponsorship Committee; Logistics Committee; Food Committee; Registration Committee; Auction Committee, and the Volunteers Committee.
