McDonald’s Honors Scholarship Recipients

The McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. will honor the 2012 McDonald’s Educates Scholarship recipients on May 1 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Venue is the Roof Terrace Restaurant, located in the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in the nation’s capital. This year, local McDonald’s franchisees awarded $93,000 total in scholarships to 55 local students in amounts of $5,000 or $1,500. The amounts will go directly to the college or university the student plans to attend. To date, the McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. have awarded over $600,000 to local students through its annual McDonald’s Educates Scholarship Program. Attendees of the red carpet affair will mingle with 2012 Scholarship recipients from D.C., local community dignitaries, McDonald’s Franchisees and many special guests, including nationally syndicated radio and TV personality Russ Parr.
